Meet Ann Riensin
Founder and Storyteller
Some of Ann’s favorite memories don’t begin with a recipe. They begin around a table.
She grew up in Thailand, where food was how people celebrated, connected, and showed love. Every meal brought family together, every market had its own rhythm, and every dish carried a story passed from one generation to the next.
When Ann moved to Kansas City at nineteen, she brought those stories with her. She dreamed of creating more than a restaurant. She wanted to create a place where strangers could become friends, families could celebrate life’s milestones, and every guest could experience the warmth of Thai hospitality.
That dream became Thai Story.
Today, every detail, from the recipes and the design to the music and the people who welcome you at the door, is inspired by the places, flavors, and memories that shaped her.
Because to Ann, the best meals aren’t just about what’s on the plate.
They’re about the people around the table.
